Mixture of minerals and organic materials with totally different qualities, according to the origin and application period. The qaunity of water depends on the plant, soil type and season, etc. The perial of root fungus or rotting exits and watering periods are brief. Soil born bugs like gnats, lay their eggs in the soil, when hatched larva feed on the plant roots, killing it. If one plant is infected with gnats, all plants well be. Fungi, mold are common when over watering accrues. Roots are small and weak, due to the lack of oxygen and the right fertilizer.
Expanded Clay
A natural material of clay with unchanging characteristics. It does not break down and is inert. It supports the plant in four ways.
It holds up the plant. It absorbed the water so the plant roots are not rotting in the water. Oxygen circulates through out the root zone. No bugs, mold, fungi or insects can live in the expanded clay.
Watering with soil
The biggest mistake made with house plants is over watering or under watering. Over watering provides mold, fungi and insect to inhabit the soil. Plus root and stock rot are possible. However with underwatering, the plant is stressed and weak. The roots become brittle and die, causing the plant to die. Another problem is fertilization. In soil the fertilization does not reach the roots in a liquid method and tends to burn the stock of the plant. Roots are thin and weak in soil.
Water-level Indicator
With hydroculture a water level indicator is attached to the culture pot. It will show you when and how much to water the plant every time. The fertilizer is a 4 or 6 month longtime release fleece bag that fits under the culture pot and is made for hydroculture. No over watering or under watering occurs. Plant grow healthier and faster with hydroculture.
Cleaner than soil
Pest free - no bugs, worms or other soil pests
Hygienic - ideal for environments where it is paramount (hospitals, restaurants & other public areas)
Non-allergic
Odors free
Cleans air - eliminates harmful indoor pollution
No water wastage - exact rates of water consumption
Easy maintenance
Water level indicator tells when plants need watering
Watering every 3 - 4 weeks
Fertilizing just once every 4 - 6 months
Consequent savings on maintenance and replacement plants
Even nutrient and water supply yields healthier, faster growing plants
